I think is going to be a rather humorous update. So brace yourself for some real ingenuity! My grandfather’s property has not been properly worked in years. Approximately 25 years ago it was a used for raising cattle and hay. Preparing the field for pumpkins and the corn maze required us to sow the field with nitrogen rich cover crops that we will later till into the soil.
We only have one tractor but we had a lot of work ahead of us, and we had to disc, plow, till, weed, level and plant the field by late October. It was an all hands on deck project. We also had to make due with what we had. While one person used the tractor with the tiller, another pulled an antique disc with an off-road vehicle. It’s crude and ridiculous, but it worked. We got the field planted and that’s what is important.
